MIDNIGHT IV
by: Haresh Daswani

Silent as the moon goes midway,
A ghost town, who's mystery lies,
At the next corner graveyard.
Blue hue cast upon cobble paved roads,
Once walked upon men and horses.
Whose intersection, once active with noise
And boisterous laughter,
Now silent, dark, isolated...
Tears from heaven once rolled through
The empty and silent gutters of now,
With pitter and patter of footsteps,
Rushing for shelter, under structures
That amassed wealth to landlords...
It is now dark here,
Silent...
Winds blow cool wind...
Windows are broken,
But the dust infested interior,
Has nothing worth to steal...
Each dust, a memory...
Of the once lively town...
But the pets of death came,
Rodents carrying the demise of others with them...
'twas time for many to leave,
one way or another,
a carriage out of town,
or 6 feet below...
Memoirs and nostalgia of past,
Now forgotten...
Memories are deserted, forgotten...
Accumulating dust...
No one dares come back...
The town once smiling,
Is silent...
